Okay.
Here goes.
I think I may be waaaay out of my comfort zone on this one!
I procrastinated for a week or so before I finally made up my mind to give this Journal Wrecking a shot. There was a time when I thought I wanted to try doing an Altered Book, but when it came right down to the actual alterations, I panicked.
Yeah... Really...
I just couldn't bring myself to write, paste, tear, glue, etc., any page!
So, I want to tell you all, right up front, that this project is really going to be a challenge. I'm scared, but deep down, I think there is a bit of a devil wanting to break free!
I've studied the pages and have already made a small entry on the sticky page. Hey, it's a start!
This really is going to be a lot of fun and when I get a quiet moment, I'm going to visit all the other participants.
Come on.
Be brave.
Be yourself.
Wreck a Journal!
Join us at Jamie's ~ she's the one who got us started!
I plan on doing some serious wrecking this week, so check my journal pages out right here next Friday. I hope to have some really cool photos for you.

As much as I am looking forward to this journey of wrecking, I think I am going to have to really push myself too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making a sticky start!
ReplyDelete"Come on.

Wreck a Journal!"
Sounds like a mantra for this adventure! Let's see what trouble we can get up to.
I am going to have to check this out...soon. It is 2:09am and I'd better go to bed! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gawd, I can't believe you did the gum page first!!!! You brave brave woman you! I've done a zillion pages aroooooound the gum page coz it freaks me out. Just cannot do it yet... ah! :O :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to wrecking with you this summer!
miracles,
k-
Can't wait to see what the little "devil" in you comes up with! :)
ReplyDeleteWay to jump right in! That's a page that frightens me. I started by carrying my journal in the rain and tea-staining the coffee page. I think I'll be doing more today.
ReplyDeleteWay to go breaking out of your comfort zone! I am kind of freaked about the food ones, so we're all in the same boat!
ReplyDeleteI poured pepto-bismol, sunscreen and lotion on the "make a mess. Clean it up" page, and I laughed like a little girl!
There is something happily naughty but completely allowed about destroying it! Happy Wrecking!
Oh you did the sticky page, that one I have been avoiding. This sure is going to be fun. I started mine on fire. That was fun....
ReplyDeleteKate
The devil saying at the top of your page made me laugh out loud :) I'm totally with you on the being out of the comfort zone thing. I cracked the spine. That was enough for me.
ReplyDeleteBe brave! We are all here to help you along--so have fun!
ReplyDeleteha barb!
ReplyDeletelooks like you are up to some real work but also an exciting job!
i will just follow along your journey and be an interested by-stander.
this "gum" page reminds me of when bernie and i were going together, ha!..39 years ago!...we used to chew an awful lot of wrigley's gum.
well, i saved all of the wrappers and made some real giant love chains with them.
probably somewhere in my collection of "saved things" boxes i could find them...but oh so many boxes and never enough time!
i hope you great success in this barb and if you perhaps see a shadow on your journal page, now and then don't you take to worrying...it will just be me being nosey!..love terry
Isn't it funny how so many of us are hesitant to do some damage? I've taken a baby step, hoping it will lead to some free-form wrecking.
ReplyDeleteI had a really fun time wrecking the journal with my friends the other time. It was great that other people got into it, since that dragged me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to just enjoy the wrecking!
ReplyDeletenice, the touch of gum was great! looking forward to sharing the rest of this journey with you!
ReplyDeletelove 'a little devil inside who wants to come out'...why do we always need permission to be naughty? why don't we just do things...looking at my journal, having a feeling of being read and read again...using the book makes my heart beat faster! Love it! x
ReplyDeleteI was eating a rice crispy treat left over from the kids and remembered seeing your sticky entry. So I stuck a piece of the treat and wrapper to that page. Thanks for the inspiration! I hope your wrecking is a destructive pleasure this week!
